Biography

Mathew Alexander is Professor & Head, Division of Neurology at the Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore. He has had his Neurology Residency from the Sree Chitra Tirunal Medical Institute of Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute, Mc Gill University, Canada where he had his Fellowship in Neuromuscular Disorders. He is an Associate Member of the American Academy of Neurology, Member of the Indian Science & Engineering Board on the DBT Task Force on Neurobiology. He is the Convenor of the Clinical Neurophysiology Subsection of the Indian Academy of Neurology and has research grants with the DBT, India. He has several publications in National & International Journals and is a reviewer for Journal of Neurological Sciences, BMC, Neurology India and Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology. He works closely with Bioengineering Department and has made a customized 16 channel EMG machine for assessing sEMG for assessing Focal Hand Dystonia, a Balance Assessment Tool and a Mobile Application for Simulated Falls.
